I'll be at Lahontan in the morning to do a little fishing. Have been doing good on White-bass and Walleye. I will be launching the boat by the Dam. Give me a haller if you see the 14' jon boat with the green sun screen.
The White-bass have been biting for the last 2 or 3 weeks. I've found that early morning and late afternoon have been the best times. You can still catch them during the day though with a little extra work. I've been doing good with yellow curly-tail jigs (1/8 or 1/4 oz. heads) fished on 4 or 6 pound line. Any sandy beach or transition between rocks and sand will work. Good luck and let us know how you do.
Now for how I did. I picked up my 6 year old grandson about 6:00 Sunday morning. He wanted to have breakfast so we stopped and eat. While we were eating he asked if we could good to Weber Reservoir and try for catfish. You'll never guess were we went (Weber). We launched the boat by the dam and tried for crappie in the rocks and brush. I spent more time getting Bubba's lures out of the brush than we did fishing, so we went to the back end where the river runs in. We trolled and bobber fished with worms and Anchovies. We caught a lot of nice catfish. We took home 16 from 12 to 20 inches. On the way home Bubba said "I had a great day and you can take me you anytime you want". I told him he would always have a spot in my truck.
