New boat paint job

Postby JustinNH » Mon Sep 19, 2011 1:08 pm

We painted Dave's boat this weekend to get rid of the light green and silver color of it. Not as nice as Ray's recent paining, but I think it came out decent enough

Looks good Justin! Hey, just an idea, I just painted mine this year and when I was done I painted "grass" on top of the "base coat" of camo. It really helped break up the outline of the boat.

Justin,
Looks good. Anytime you want to borrow some stencils let me know. They are really easy to use and definitely add the 3d effect. The paint job on the other boat I posted was basically an hours worth of "work".

Have you noticed that common sense is not as common as it used to be???

Thanks everyone!

We may decide to add the grass patterns to it eventually....the big hurdle was to at least get the main painting part done to not stuck out like a sore thumb.

Half the spots we hunt don't have much in the way of cat tails or grass that the stencils would mimic. Would it still be a wise choice to add them to the camo to break it up even more?

Check out Assateauge's boat int the boat and blind forum, I think you'll find your answer. Also, he has a like to his boat build in his sig, or atleast he did.
