Pheasant for dinner!

Can't wait, the wife is cooking it now. But more importantly, Cami did great today! I really haven't trained her to upland hunt the than actually going and calling her back to me when she gets to far away. She has figured out real quick just how far she can go. Also, I used the command "look" when I send her into an area, she likes looking now! After the she flushed her first one this morning, she wouldn't stop looking! Anyway, now to the numbers, 7 flushes (had a little safety problem on the first 3), next 2 died and where retrieved. I sat down on a log on the walk out to have a smoke and meet an older gentleman. We get to talking and turns out he lost his Springer last year. I also had a Springer that I lost 4 years ago. He tells me he just can't bring himself to get another dog but he really misses hunt with a "companion". So I tell him, if he would like he could hunt with us and seeing as I had my limit anything she flushes is all his. So, 2 more flushes, 2 more retrieves.

By the way, after hunting with Cami the guy says he might reconsider getting a dog. He thanked me like 5 times and said it's nice to know there are still people out there that will go out of their way to make an old man happy. That made me feel good.

Enough of the touchie feelie crap. 7 flushes, 4 retrieves.
