Anybody Getting out tomorrow?

Postby 9JAYDUB » Sat Nov 23, 2013 8:09 pm

With the cold and the wind in the forecast I can't decide if it'll be worth it to put the dog in the truck and head out to some marshes to try and jump some sitting ducks. Any body else thinking of heading out? Any thoughts on tactics for low temps and high winds other than working cleaning the gun or painting some new decoys?

It was a beautiful morning. Only 1 mallard fell to my buddies gun.

My inland spots either have either been hammered every other day since inland opened back up or are frozen, so no go there. I'd rather sleep in than deal with 20-30mph wind and 3 other trucks in a 2 group spot. Planned to go for sea ducks yesterday, but it seemed a little windy then too. Missed out last Sunday due to massive amounts of fog.

Hopefully I'll get out extra during the the next week.

I slept in 'til 5:00 this morning... when I got up for work. :fingerhead:
Although I was up at 4:00 on Sat, I got a late start (long story), no one was in my spot and I managed a couple of birds.
Sun because of the weather we just walked in and sat down, no dekes. We would have had a better morning had we put forth more effort. We saw plenty of birds but the high winds had them on a different flight pattern than usual.

Keep scouting new spots. It ain't over yet.
