Need info re: sea ducking off NH coast

Have a friend who just moved to the area and we'd like to sea duck off the NH coast. Short of picking a boat ramp and boating aimlessly to a random spot and dropping the anchor, we don't have the first idea of where to go. Are we better off going up into Maine, or down to Gloucester or the Cape? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

We have a road that follows most of the coast and makes for much easier scouting than most inland spots. With that said, I've driven it and have seen ducks every 100 yards and I have driven it to only see one raft. They change where they want to be, but there are patterns. If the weather will be similar, take a drive the day before.

Also, there is a reason there are more Maine and Mass sea duck guides.... haha

Careful, it can be addicting.
