The waterfowl hearing for the 2017/2018 season is March 22 @ 6:00 at NH F&G headquarters in Concord.

Out of curiosity, do you know the reason for the early hearings this year and last? Seemed like prior, these were held later and waterfowl seasons not released until closer to the season.

I believe this change was nationwide. Announced last year.
My doctor said drinking heavily can lead to a slow death. I said good, I'm not in any hurry.

They have to wait until the federal meeting where they announce the season guidelines for each flyway. That meeting used to be in July, hence the original hearings in Aug. Not sure why they got bumped up, my guess is they changed the federal meeting date. It certainly gives hunters more time to plan their fall outings.

The proposed seasons align with what they've given us in the past. I can't see them adding a couple more days and having start/end on a weekday. Most guys can only get out on the weekends so it wouldn't add any days for most hunters and I don't see them adjusting it an entire week. And, as everyone knows a lot depends on the weather and you just can't predict that. Head up to the northern zone to extend your season.

One of the comments made last night was that the proposed seasons maximize the number of weekends we can hunt. and yes, we can shoot 2 black ducks this year.
