Round Valley Reservoir, Lebanon NJ

Postby tonekruise » Sat Aug 04, 2012 7:54 pm

From what i understand this can only be hunted from a boat? no shoreline hunting at all? i currently live on staten island (due to work, PA born and raised) and am beginning to poke around for this coming season.. its a little bit of drive so any insight on if i'm wasting my time or not would be appreciated.. i'm assuming opening day is practically shoulder to shoulder . . . ?

-Thanks

It will be shoulder to shoulder trout fisherman the second week of October. Don't waste your time. I was born and raised in the area. It is a better late season hunt and that is marginal at best.

If your in Staten Island why travel ? You have some of the regions best shooting right in your backyard.

Send me a pm closer to the season and I can get you out. Yes the boroughs are out and you are limited without a boat in your area. There are other walk in options. Check some area rivers.

From my understanding it is below the high water line and with how dry its been you can go off land without an issue. The problem is getting to the locations without boat which is pretty much unattainable with hikers everywhere. I would recommend spruce run as a better option with many drop in spots and there is a large pond off van sykle road by one of the bulidings. Google map it. It can offer good hunting but you wont be the only one out, however it is quiet during the week. I can hook you up one day with off the beaten path holes in flooded timber. Ill be out every Friday and Saturday no work :grooving: hit me up the more guns and decoys the better. After all its better to enjoy with multiple than be selfish which seems to be manies motif
