Storm is pushing birds in

Postby DougyBeards » Mon Oct 29, 2012 5:09 pm

Scouted this morning in a sideways rain at a normal woody spot that I havent made it to due to hunting my teal and mallard spots with my first two hunts. What normally holds about 60 woodies held what seemed like a thousand. If you told me that there were over 500 wood ducks in this place I'd believe it. I dont know if the storm pushed them down or what, but I cant wait to hunt the tail end of this storm. I also saw a bunch of mallards and teal. I'm not sure what other kind of ducks were flying, it was too dark when I left to really I.D. any other birds. This weather is making for great results if you are capable of getting out there safely. Honestly this morning was the most birds I have ever seen in one spot, besides maybe roosts of hundreds of teal. No big groups of ducks, all small pairs.
