Saturday Morning Snows

Postby pvn6616 » Sat Feb 02, 2013 3:44 pm

Brrrr!!! I for one am getting tired of this cold. The geese didn't seem to mind though. We set up where the geese had been landing a couple of days ago, and of course today they wanted to be on the next island!!! We had birds come over us and due to the clear bright skies and us laying out like a couple of lumps of ... you know, they wouldn't commit. We had a few shots but they always seemed to come when we would get up to take a leak or warm our feet. It was uncanny, 3 or 4 times we blew it because we got up and geese were RIGHT there!!!

Finally 4 came in low and Chick and Nick connected while I floundered around like a beached whale. Last year we were blasting birds, this year we have to scratch for every single one. That's what it's all about, why I hunt. God I love it!

Pete, we need to practice shooting behind our back, through our legs, and with our eyes closed. If we get those down then the snows wont be able to elude us!
Just lookin for the ducks...
