Snow Storm along the Jersey Coast

Postby pvn6616 » Tue Feb 05, 2013 4:52 pm

Whoa!!!! Saturday the temperature was in the teens with a nice NW breeze, this morning the thermometer read 38 degrees at 5AM. Needless to say I still overdressed, still thinking about that bone chilling weather!!! Papgeno and his longtime hunting companion Russ joined me for another snow goose hunt. Although the snow geese still behaved like typical snows, we finally dialed into their flight path and flock after flock came over and circled us at 500 yds. A few did commit and gave us some nice in your face, landing gear down, wings cupped, shots!!! We came away very happy with the results of a successful morning!

We had a constant flow of birds looking us over for an hour and a half. They were interested but very wary and gave us many close inspections at 50yds. Pete called several bunches all the way down, and we had a really nice hunt. A great day out on the marsh - Thanks Pete!!!
