Last year me and the misses were expecting our first baby due in December. I really wanted to get a puppy just after the hunting season so that I could train in the off season and have something to work with the following year. So I contacted several breeders in the area and ended up getting a pretty good vibe from a kennel out in PA. They had an upcoming litter from a proven Dam and a young promising Sire. I put a deposit down and the puppies were going to be born in late December. Then my daughter was born on December 1st and our whole world was turned upside down! Me and the misses decided that the time wasn't right so I canceled with the breeder. He was very understanding and refunded my deposit which he did not need to do. I have been kicking myself in the ass ever since I canceled the deposit and have been frequently checking for new litters. Well they have had good feedback from the first litter and did a second breeding. Just put my deposit down and the puppies will be ready for homes in December. Can't wait! I've already read a few books on dog training but does anyone have any good books they would recommend or even better want to let me borrow? Here is the breeders website. http://www.prkennel.com/puppies.html Jim at Pineridge Kennels is a great guy to deal with. Last time Ryley had 9 puppies and I believe theres still a few spots left on the waiting list. Very reasonable at $850 IMO.
