Figured I would wait for my sons and hunt with them afterschool. Son number one was still not up for it,still sick, son number two wanted to clam.So we went claming. While claming saw a few Brant and a small flock of blacks otherwise not much. Good luck

Hunted the other river in the morning, saw more birds the day before, not much shooting going on. Had friends hunting the Navesink that were skunked.

65 degree weather isn't helping anything.

I wait for low tide and rake for hardshell, came home with two dozen, very sweet. A few years back I found a bed of pissers and could get two or so puonds in a hour. Have not found another bed of pissers since. Might have saw your friends at the rumson dock,if they were on a marsh boat made in Long Island. They said it was dead out there.

The ones that were out that day were friends from north jersey that have southbay boats so yeah that was probably them. It's usually the same few of us that hunt out of Rumson because of the ramp permit cost. That and I live a few blocks away so it's easy

$85 for the year.

Rip off if you ask me, I figure at the least residents of Rumson should either get it for free or get a discount... With both my dad and I having our own sneakboxes that's $170 between the two of us...

85 that is steep, ya ever try launching in fair haven? or is it just not worth the trip up and down the river in gas and time?

A little bit of both. I live 3 blocks from the ramp in Rumson so it is worth the $85 to roll out of bed and still beat guys to spots.

Understandable, by the time you add up all the other money ya spend on hunting 85 is just another expense.
