Decided to head out today to end the the first part of the season. We decided since the birds seemed to be showing up in brig we wanted to try it out. So me and Pete got out to our spot about a half hour before shooting time and enjoyed hearing the ducks quack in the bay. As the sun rose we began to see a good amount of birds flying around. After about 2 hours of having multiple birds give us a look we finally tricked a pair of black ducks that where just about to land when we unloaded, but like so many times before this one the birds just kept flying. At about 8:30am we had bill meet us out there after work and decided to move out to open water. After arriving on the open water and waiting what seemed to be hours which in reality was only about a half hour we finally connected two black ducks decided to come over head which Bill connected with one which is his first duck of his young career. After about another 20 minutes we had a couple dozen brant come in front of us and we where able to connect on two! Soon after we had 4 brant come through which I connected on one which was banded which is my first band I've ever shot! After a couple of hours of it being quite we had 4 more brant zoom in which we where able to connect on 3 of those to limit out! All in all it was a great ducky day and I enjoyed great laughs and good times!
