Holy Smokes I saw a lot of Canadian geese Saturday

Postby stevez » Sun Dec 09, 2007 2:20 pm

Maybe they just know about the lapse in the goose season, but I saw more Canada geese Saturday than I have in years. Literally hundreds and hundreds of birds landing while hundreds more took to the air. It was an amazing sight.
None of the birds seemed to even care that I was standing there watching them work back and forth. To sweeten the pot, there were even fat mallards mixed in the groups. Well, you know what I'll hopefully be doing this Saturday

Steve... I see this literly every day. They take off from a HUGE mud flat in the creek on the other side of my father in laws farm and then more return in the evening they begin leaving right around day break and fly in flocks of 20-50 every minute or two until right around 10:00 The bad part is I have to just sit there all season and watch them because were they are landing is private meadow. But there is nothing like sitting in my deerstand wathcing buzz the trees over head. all you can do is hope the all ready dont drop on ya.. One day ill talk the owner into letin me back there one day

was outside yesterday covering the boat in anticipation of the coming snow storm, and heard that familiar squeeky honk, looked up to around 1000 snows passing over the house, and i know exactly where they were going. A PLACE WE CANT HUNT  maybe i take a ride up there today and get some pics
