Good Morning Hunt

Postby Tack in NJ » Fri Jan 04, 2008 8:40 am

Well the dog and I went out this morning to our new spot.
What a morning!!!!!!!! 2 wood ducks come in just after legal time and no wood ducks leave. Good way to start. 10 minutes later a flock of Blacks appear and one drake hits the water. 5 minutes after that a flock of mallards come in and one drake and one hen go down. The dog mad excellent retrieves on all the ducks. Only bad thing was when he was getting the mallard drake just as he was getting to it the damn thing took off and I couldn't shoot because of the dog. He did get the hen tho. SO all in all a good morning 5 shots 4 ducks hell thats damn good for me.

Actually it's a brand new dog. Tack just started him this season and has been doing a real good job. (personally I think the dog is training Tack)

Steve do you realize how many spark plugs I went through this year??? Actually the dog needs alot more obedience training but as far as retrieving he's a natural. This off season is obedience and hand signal traing time. But I guess I shouldn't complain that mallard this morning was the only duck I lost this year.
