Shot my first pintail today. It locked up its wings and sailed for about a half mile and landed in a field of cattails  . I did not find that bird :violin: . this next weekend i may have to put the hammer on them for what that bird did. Has anybody been shooting them? How far into breading plumage are they now? sadly I did not have the chance to get up real close to see for myself.

Isn't it pretty early for pintails? I usually don't see them until late December or January. I didn't see any of those this weekend but we did end up getting a hybrid mallard-widgeon and lots of teal.
