Elephant butte/Caballo

Hey how is hunting down by Caballo or the butte this year and if so are there places that you could hunt without a boat, not asking for specifics, but bernardo and stuff has been iffy lately lookin to try new places? :smile:

whether or not there is ducks, who knows. but there is no way in hell i walk around down there in that mud without a boat by my side. that stuff is no joke. i got stuck down there a few years back and actually thought that i was done for. never had such a horrible time getting out of mud in my life. and this coming from someone who used to hunt the tide flats of california that are known for life sucking mud. be careful.

Dont go unless you have great equipment and a hunting partner. No duck is worth your life! :no:

Being from the swamps of Louisiana I thought I new mud too, but there are places at the Butte (usually were the ducks are) that are dangerous as hell, as others have mentioned, so be careful. Lots of places are OK, but you never know what the next step might deal you.
