I think its safe to say that for the most part guys are done giving out info on hunts. I got to talking about this with some other guys. Over the past several years guys would post, give general info, or simply help others out and tell them where to go. And the majority of the time that guy would just get screwed.

Season doesn't start till the South opens!!!

Hey wasnt asking for any spots, read the question all he was asking is if anybody had seen any of them up there seeing as how the south doesnt open for two weeks and with little water we don't have many birds. And beign the whole way down in cruces we dont want to drive to the north part of the state just to see if there are, this site was made for questions like this, not for people to be jerks about it. I did read your last post bout people screwing others over and i dont blame you for not giving out spots especially with how little water we have, but he just wanted to know if there had been much bird activity up north. So we can try to figure out some sort of plan.... and any avid duck hunter knows when the hunt dates are so ttrying to say its closed is stupid. Anyways hope yall are having a good season so far

Note to self: DON'T ask how the migration is going up north simply trying to see how birds are moving. Simple question not trying to steal your spots I kill em just fine where I go. Seeing as how I'm in Las Cruces now and can't look out my window every morning to see how they are moving or if they have arrived yet I thought I would ask. My apologies for a simple question

Man, we just can't joke around with you hardcore guys huh? Despite what others are saying on some other sites this place is dry. No smoke and mirrors here. There are a few birds around and until the weather gets cold up North and the irrigation stops here, it will be slim pickins. I'd give it till about turkey day before the mass slaughter begins.

yep, there are birds here. and I have been noticing more and more coming down.

I drove up into southern colorado to see about birds there- and I saw a few but nothing to get real exited about. .not as many as I have seen in the past.

But there are birds here, and more will keep coming. the weather has been definitely getting cooler-its much cooler now then it was at this time last year...and we need a good cold winter. Im not gonna get to specific about spots I hunt, but I will post a few pictures of how I do on saturday. I can see where your coming from, just wanting to know how the birds are moving and all that.

Spent the weekend looking north it's not as bad as some would like us to believe, did plenty of glassing/driving and finally found them in good numbers, limits came easily. Mostly local birds or high mountain lake/river birds that have pushed into valley floor areas. Not even close to migratory birds yet.

Southern guys need to scratch that itch I guess? it's typically late November- December before the south end becomes a player on migrators. Weather sites absolutely are a must for scouting otherwise common sense should be used, like today's High in Bismarck ND 77 Denver Co 79. If that itch becomes a rash be prepared to spend $$$$.
Southern end can't open soon enough for me as well fact is once its open many of my haunts become abandon :grooving: , with southern obvious low-cals becoming pressure cookers forcing birds to move on :hi:
