A friend of mine calls me from Oklahoma and says
he's on the mallards. After a very poor last weekend
in NM I said what the hell and headed east. Went out
Tuesday 72degrees we finished w/limits by 8:45.
Same thing wednesday. There was probably about three
hundred mallards using this area. Thursday night after the
front hit it rained hard. Next morning water raised two feet
at the spot. The creek was now a raging river and temp had
dropped forty degrees w/blowing snow & sleet. We didnt bring the
outboard so decided to come back in the afternoon. Not that
it was too cold or anything. :withstupid:
Anyhow later that afternoon we get out and found about
three thousand mallards had piled in with the front.
The temp had actually dropped in the mid twenties.
We made short work anyhow. Nothin but mallards.
I love Oklahoma.
