Not long Now....Pics inside to get the blood flowin'

Postby randy marci » Fri Oct 04, 2013 4:19 pm

Every year before the season starts we have some kind of gum flappin that goes on around here that gets everyone on edge before the season gets underway. This year was no different. As a change of pace, let's post up some hunt pics from seasons gone by so we get a chance to think about what the next 4 months is going to bring us. I will personally be on the road in less than 12 hours and have not been very excited about this season. Went over to my Photobucket account and that changed quickly. so, if you have some pics to share from any New Mexico hunts, post 'em up. Give us all a little something to look forward to. I have taken hardly any pics the last 2 years. Hopefully I will take a few more scenery pics this year rather than the typical pile o' birds crap I usually do. This is not a bragging thread to see who kills what, it is a thread to show what we will all be addicted to for the next few months so please no bashing or I will delete your posts. I want this to be positive for us as a group. Won't be long now...

Haha. If Randy ever tells you he's not much of a fisherman do not believe him.

Oh yeah. Nice Pinard. Hope you had him taxi dermed.

Randy,
1- Is that an RNT Old Style in that 3rd picture(wood call)?

2 - Did you have a nice fish fry after shooting all those mergies

3 - That's an awesome mule duck.

Pinlard, Mule Duck, same thing...How do you like that Old Style? I've been thinking about getting one for myself. Can you get much of a messican accent out of one?

That old style ranks right up there toward the top of calls I wish I never sold. I set it up as a double with an .007 reed on top and a .010 on the bottom. wasn't very loud but nasally as all get out. the unfortunate part was that it stuck bad. Just about like every other RNT I have ever owned. Such a shame. Most will tell you it's operator error when they stick. oh well. guess I need to practice more then.

Yea Randy, if SNTs didn't stick, I'd love them. Had a coco short barrel that I loved, but it doesn't do me any good when it locks up after blowing it at the first couple of birds in the morning.

BFM, I wanted to try some real bad and I had a half-metric ton feeding around my boat when I got back to it one morning, so I rolled a few and took them home. Lots of folks that have ACTUALLY eaten them will tell you that they are better than ducks, and they aren't lying. I did throw one away after I opened it up...it smelled like the south end of a north facing skunk that had gangrene around it's poop chute. The rest of them were better than any duck or dove I've had before, by a long shot.
