Ice Creepin'

Postby the high life man » Sat Jan 18, 2014 8:34 pm

Took me about 20 minutes of creeping, shuffling and softly stepping in knee deep water with 1/4" ice to get close enough to get this sucker but it was worth it. Going on the wall. I've shot 5 this year and he's the best yet.

Great Bird!!! Mounter for sure.

Been trying for one for two weeks now, we've been seeing about 10 per day just can't get one in range

Please post a pic when you get him back from your taxi.

This is probably a stupid question. It is a very pretty bird. What type of duck is it?

Cinnamon and a beauty at that...The part I have a hard time with is that they have a musky smell similar to a Shoveler.

I'm moving to Fort Hood in a month. Going to mount him with a Mexican duck. It'll be my memories of NM duck hunting and the two species I have only killed here in the desert.

I'm just glad you're getting better at taking pictures of them...still not ideal, but definitely better.

You keep shooting things with a camera. I'll keep killing them with a gun.
