Water not as good as one would hope

Postby lindschesapeake » Wed Aug 22, 2007 7:12 am

Last years rains provided some excellent water for hunting. Still enough to do but strageies will go back to the draught style planning. Bird movement different but numbers will be there if your smart enought to figure it out.

My girlfriend works for dept of game and fish, had her ask around before heading out this weekend, she said they just started flooding Bernardo this week.

The south entrance to Bernardo is over grown with weeds seven foot tall. The drain was loaded with dove.I walked down the dirt road on the west side. I'm amazed at the differance the water makes there.

If by "bone dry" you mean full of ducks then yes. killed two lmits of teal today in 30 minutes at Bernardo. Hell you can't just hunt 20 yards off the road...get out of the damn truck and walk...plenty of water tights there..and teal too!!!!

Like I said the south entrance to Bernardo was blocked by weeds.I went back north to the gate to the service road. I walked until I got to the cross road going south. I walked south for a hundred yards. The ponds were dry. I'd say I walked over twenty yards from my truck.

Maybe you should put a silencer on your keyboard also.

Didn't mean to come across as salty. I caught a case of bronchitis a month ago, just getting over it. If you had told me where the honey hole was , I probably wouldn't of been able to walk to it.
