I remember when lead was still legal!!!
When steel first came out, it sucked.
Still does, but not as bad.

When I started duck hunting with my own shotgun in 1987, lead was still legal statewide expect for WMA's, SGR's, and the zones on the Rio in proximity of the refuges. When I went hunting with my father, back in 1978, they had a check station at the entrance of W. Bernardo and would take the gizzards from all my dad's birds for what I assume was checking for lead shot ingestion.

crazy to see how much things change. Next maybe we'll need non-toxic decoy weights

Why do I shoot 3.5" shells for ducks and geese ? Because they don't make 4" yet

The only thing that sucks about today's steel is the price, but lead isn't a whole lot cheaper anymore.

BFM, some groups are trying to outlaw lead fishing sinkers.

Past life!
Yeah, before I moved here and lived back east.
Ex in laws had a farmer in Calvert County, Md.
Lots of goose hunting from a pit the fil would dig for me with a backhoe. No decoys needed.
Lead bb's were deadly!
Moved here, work in the oil field, and life sucked.
Been real slow for about 2 years now and have been catching up on life missed.
Moving a drilling rig out for the next few days down to the Jic.

Why do you use tungstens when you're fishing tourneys?

Because tungsten is so much harder than lead you get a better feel of the bottom and a bite. Idk how many times I have found structure that my depth finder didn't find just from fishing a Carolina rig with a tungsten weight.
