Formerly Ladd S. Gordon wma, used to be a great place to hunt
till it was filled w/raw sewage, turned brackish and the
catails even died. At present time is a dustbowl.
A forgotten place that never had the m (management) in the prhase wma.
RIP tucum wma.

They started calling it (Bernardo areas) Ladd S. Gordon
waterfowl complex maybe a few years back. It might even include Casa. Your guess is as good as mine as of why?
There is a monument or was at Tucumcari wma boat ramp about Ladd S. Gordon.
Maybe they didnt want his name reffered to the lake. The conditions it has gone through is pretty sad.

I think you're right, looks like at least a family member complained about it:

Unfortunately this whole state is going to crap for hunting across the board, until we get another man like Gordon in charge up there. So pretty soon, there won't be anywhere to do the mans name justice.

I'm a member of DU, but I'm not an active member locally, whats the deal with them and delta obtaining new lands? What are they doing to pressure the DGF?

I didn't even get a mailing about the local banquet, I read about it online the night before. Do they have other events to try and plan stuff? crap why don't they organize some members to go clean up some of these WMAs?

Meh...the whole thing pisses me off.

Your right on Hellion.

Growing up I used to get together with a bunch of the local guys around Belen and we would go clean out areas ourselves during the fall. Its a great way to really get to know an area and even though it doesn't seem to make a diff. I can sure tell when I don't clean out an area I hunt.

If anyone wants to get together in the VC or Soccoro area PM me, this is our home were talking about.

I can't do anything this weekend, I'm moving houses, however any weekend after that I'm game to meet up.
