I agree splatt , policing civilians is not the same as being a soldier.

That's why I don't try to act like I know how to be one. You kinda stated like you were a soldier of some kind . Not a police officer , which are two different things

We all see that, and we all get that(the 21ft thing).

What everyone seems to be saying that you're either missing or ignoring, is that the police escalated that situation...not the "bad guy". He was complying and willing to come out with them. Then THEY escalated the situation which caused him to want to defend himself, which caused him to get killed.

I didn't take it as he was defending himself. He put his stuff down and it appeared that he emptied his pockets and held the knife/knives out in outstretched arms.
Then it looked like he turned, looking at the ground, possibly checking on his stuff and was then shot in the back.
He had no defensive or offensive stance.

If I were to pull a knife in that situation, the knife would be hidden and then strike when close enough to inflict damage. Not standing there turning, with outstretched arms.

Like I said , if more comes out and DOJ rules unjustified , I will say I was wrong

What one person percieves as a threat may not be perceived as a threat to another splatt.
Not that they are wrong but we all perceive threat different

Wow, I guess it shouldn't surprise me that the douche bag public land a guide that I've been reading about for the past year is a cop as well. If 21 feet is some magic number that allows you idiots to shoot somebody then let me ask you. Why did the officers get so close to him? They put themselves in that position! It seemed to me, and everybody else that I talked to that watched the video, that he was standing his ground, not advancing on them. If you watch the video you can see that they picked such a weird time to shoot him. It's almost like they got sick of standing there an just decided off the guy!

I love how you played it just like the police chief did. Quick to back up your boys in blue. Nothing but a legalized gang of thugs an fools who think they are doing the community some kind of service ... Pfffft

Dude, you are mental midget....

I don't think he was either Splatt, but since that's what they are sayin the threat was...

BFM, surely somewhere inside you know what the cops did wasn't right whether the DOJ rules unjustified or not, and you just don't want to say your boys were wrong.

You are exactly right quack. Isn't it scary that these guys are out on the streets in the position that they are.
They aren't heroes. They are just men. And every man that I know has many many flaws.

well said bfm.
Sounds like a threat to me.
No wonder your sticking up for the shooters.
Your post appears to be just like your suspicious of how APD is.
There must be a secret execution squad in APD, and either your a member or trying to get it.
Seen it in a movie I think....

How you gonna fix it?
Get him to meet you, then shoot him, and say it was self defense?

Dude, your digging your hole deeper.

There's an old saying.

Better to keep your mouth shut and let people think your an idiot, than to run ones mouth and prove it.

We the people, ain't buying it. It was murder plain and simple.

This would tell most people that in fact, I haven't.

I've already said that we're going to have to agree to disagree, because we aren't going to see eye to eye on this subject. But it was nice to have a lively thread today. It's been a week or so since anyone had anything good to say.
