Coyotes and such

Postby quackadikt » Wed May 28, 2014 12:15 pm

can no longer be hunted on WMA lands. Seemed to come out of nowhere, and makes zero sense. Typical NMDGF.

Why do I shoot 3.5" shells for ducks and geese ? Because they don't make 4" yet

Are you implying that back room deals and pay to play tactics occur in this great state of ours? I don't believe it!

A buddy called NMDGF and talked to them about this yesterday. Here's what he had to say:

I just called the office (NMWF), I guess this rule has been around for years. It is just a clarification... In order to hunt ANYTHING on a WMA (other than Tahr) You need to have a valid tag. You can't even hunt small game. So if you have an Elk tag on the Marquez and you see a coyote you can whack it but you at least need a valid elk tag.

And this is from the rule book.

It's really irrelevant. I don't think too many people hunt them on wma. If it was truly public , the public would be able to hunt yotes on it .I guess you could call it public for everything it allows , if that seems better
