Almost time

Postby quackadikt » Mon Aug 04, 2014 10:38 pm

Thought I'd start this just for the Fuzz from Belen.

Less than a month.

Image

I'm guessing about 7 weeks?
Image

Image

Image

11 1/2-ish weeks?
Image

About a month-ish after that?

Im not going to dwell too much in the past, but look forward to the future.
Hey Quack, remember that blind you were surprised I kill stuff outta?
Well, a few touch ups to finish it, but it looks like this now.
Image
Been trying my hand at pre camoing my layouts.
Image
Dug out some old decoys to try out new stakes to covert floaters to field.
I think they just may work?
Image
New calls too.
Matching set of duck and goose.
Image
Goose flag. Never used one before.
Image
and of course shells!
Image
Got some new clothes, face paint, and other odds and ends too.
Retired and ready for an awesome season!
Now just waiting on a dozen white rock mallard socks.

Dang Jamie, that's pretty sweet that the wifey lets you take the minivan dove hunting! Looks like Mark is stocking up for the zombie duck invasion!

That ain't no mini-van, peckerhead.

And I was thinking the same thing for Splatt. It'd take me 7 or 8 years to shoot that many shells.
Your box blind looks a lot better that way Splatt. Pro-tip. if you turn the grass sheets upside down(or at least throw the woven end over the top of the blind so that grass starts sticking up) it'll break up that box even more.

Thought about that after the fact!!
DAHHHH.Geezer moment!
After dulling the tape, Im gonna try to fray the tops.

Hey. Shells were on sale for@100 bucks delivered.
I stocked up for a few years at that price in case they aren't that cheap again.

I figure I may be able to hunt at least 125 days this year!
Gonna try to learn more about patterns and setting up spreads and watching birds coming in and how they react.
Lots of videoing!

Also ordered a snow cover yesterday for the big RIP blind.
Might be a snowy winter?

Not a problem. Wont be hunting hard. Still have a pup to raise for another year. Have some goals for him.

Whats the flat rate. I will pay top dollar if you can guarantee LIFE TIME OF A HUNT for them geese. Talking about smashing them non stop all day.

If you do find where I hunt or Vise Versa. Respect the shooting early 1/2 hour TDT. Give me a couple hundreds yards of space between us to have an enjoyable hunt. Please tear down your blind after use, don't leave decoys left out overnight. Fair is fair who gets there first. Let the birds work. Don't sky bust or take shots just for the hell of it, if I am working the birds into my spread. Also a reminder to pick up your empty hulls. Thank you.

Just another fun season up ahead......................

One more thing to add........Now I have a pup I am working with. Please keep your dog(s) under control when you hunt with them. Sucks when you shoot a sailing bird and out of control dog runs for it. Whether if I shot it or you did in a area. It happens. I have great control of my pup. So, no problems with him.

Just a few from the dozens of new gear.

Tried my hand at repainting the full bodies and flocked all the heads .

Still need a couple more silo head and bodies flocked. Surprised that there's no glare during the brightest part of the day.had to reduce picture size to put it on DHC , caused a small grainy look.

:censored: I can't wait.

GETTING THERE FiRST (GT1st), funny thing about that is someone always GT2nd and oddly enough always ends up Down wind of GT1st and seems to always have a poor shooting day too, course GT3rd, etc.

Not fun! So many birds with so many places to hunt them.

Now, I'm curious about places to put 7doz FFD Elites along with 8doz flocked Silos, 2 LO blinds, Mutt hut, X2, Foiles SMH, anyone hear of a place recently? Almost forgot 1case of 3.5 BB Hevi Shot 1case of 3.5 #2 HeviShot.
Maybe NB will do some scouting this weekend.

LOL no sir . My hats have a pretty good bend. I'd kick my own ass if I had a Hurley shirt on.

the DC shirt is purely coincidental , it was a gift and is a warm shirt :hammer:

Jaime , you coming up north to smash a few this season ?

Not at all! Life's good!

Only pointing out a scenario that played out between a Fan Boat Dr and Stickler & Dirt last season...remember? Dr got there first.

And, since I'm not in to posting pictures and everyone else is, thought I'd post a list of what I'm passionate about in fowling

Boonie hats & Simms 50 SPF hand, face, shirts. For this guy. Not into the Sun!
