:help:

I'm trying to get on at the Tompkins-Cayuga Cooperative Hunting Area for the 26th. I call the number listed on the website but they aren't picking up the phone. All I get it as partial message on an aswering machine. Does anyone know how this works or if it is closed for the year?

Thanks,
Matt

You have to call starting at 1:00 the day before. you'll get a busy signal but keep calling till you get through it's first come first serve. I think all the blinds for the 26th are taken all ready. they did the call in for that one early.

thanks. I was wondering about that and the day before the 26th being Christmas and all. Is it worth showing up and trying to get on in the event that someone doesn't show?

I showed up and got a spot without a reservation, and no hasles. I SAW quite a few birds . . . still refining the goose technique!

big_pete79, What kind of ducks were they, and what do you think caused them to land out side?

one was a buffle head the other a whistler. I can't figure out why they landed out side but maybe because there was next to no wind and the decoys didn't look quite right i guess.

thats what it looked like. But it was 47 decoys that we had to lug back out a steep hill to get back to the truck. Even the geese wouldn't fly. they all sat in the middle of cayuga. strtching as far as the eye could see from one end of the lake to the other.

I can so relate, we had out over 85 broadies out that day. The day before we crushed them there. We sat there from sun up to sun down, and shot 6
