late Feb Snows

Postby harvey1b » Fri Jan 13, 2006 12:03 pm

I am thinking about going out for snow geese during the late season. I've been keeping my eye out as I drive around but haven't seen any. where in the state do they tend to hang out?

I haven't seen a snow goose in NY state yet this winter.

Someone out there has to have an idea, or have they not moved out of Canada?

I saw a few mixed in with some canadas a couple of times earlier this year. I heard guys say they see more of them out towards Rochester, but I've never really seen many around.

harvey1b, Up here we don’t see any until they make their push through in the spring, then there normally dot high. My part of the State, we just don’t see that many. Now drive 1 ½ hr East or West and they’re all over the place. It’s like there’s this corridor they just don’t like to fly through, weird :pissed:

I saw some on 34 north of auburn on sat. We definately don't get them in any real numbers here. Still, I almost drove into a ditch when I saw them.
