I think you may turn on the beavers in the pond with that little number..
Seriously,
1) IF it is going to be a GE, the tail board (which you don't need for Eyes) should be flatter, smaller and lower on the body, just above the water line.
2) You can buy heads on eBay, if you get a few to start you, they will help you determine the entire scale of the bird and look much better until you get better at carving the head, the hardest part..
3) Don't rush... walk away from it for a few days and then have another look. Maybe get ONE good decoy that you are trying to emulate and it'll guide you. Get back to me when it's time to carve blacks and brant.
