steelshot reloading

Postby Gcdhunter » Wed Jan 23, 2013 11:22 am

I have been just getting into reloading steelshot. Was wondering if any of you guys know were to find supplies locally(western new york)for BB-#4 steel pellets and for powder. I know most of the supplies are available online but shipping is expensive. Was at buffalo gun center the other day they don't carry steel pellets but do carry a good supply of powder.

Tried this myself a couple years ago and had the same problem. By the time i payed for shipping, powder, buffer, wads, primers, and shot I could buy hevi-shot cheaper. I dont know why steel shot componets are so much more than lead.

i dont know how a local outlet could possibly sell you stuff cheaper than an online store....unless they ordered so much they got free shipping...and then made less money on a percentage, than the shipping itself.

and i have a hard time believeing many if any places will carry reloading stuff in their retail store for reloading steel shot for all the sizes....

the times they have a changed!!

Unless u have the money to piss away and want to reload for a hobby, u will not come out on the cheap end against todays steel shot. U better off buying then reloading.

I'm not necessarily looking to save money but would just like to try making my own quality loads. I've heard NY state proposing up to a 50% tax on ammo in the future. If this is true I will then save money.
