Now that I posted this as a LI, Jones Beach image, I am not sure. The Jones Beach tower was built in the 1920's under Robert Moses. This print, looks like the style of the 1800's and the sinkbox was ended in 1918 in the US.
......."Sinkboxes were typically used by market (rather than sport) hunters for duck or other waterfowl in both the United States and Canada until 1918, when the practice was banned in the United States with the passage of the Migratory Bird Act of 1918."
Oh well, I guess that tower isn't the Jones Beach Tower. But for a moment it was the 1800's, and the LI marsh I have hunted.
