Moved to the area about 5 months ago with the Navy and purchased a Yellow Lab that I've been working with as much as possible. Not being from around here (Saratoga Springs area) I don't know of any places where I can get some frozen birds to get this guy ready for early season. I sifted through the forum a bit before posting but didn't see anything on the topic. If anyone has any info on where I could get some please reply or PM me! Thanks guys.
Frozen birds saved from last season are like Gold for most of us that train.
Your best bet would be to try and locate some Pigeons from a local farmer, pigeon racer or catch them yourself under a bridge or the like. Sometimes you can find a local bird enthusist that might part with a live duck or pheasant.
Ask lots of local people, farm/feed stores, etc.
Good luck and welcome to DHC
Just sent you a PM. We have enough frozen birds to last us this training season and next....and that's training 5-6 days a week. I'm in your area.
