Brant for my new friend from TN

Postby sssurfertim » Mon May 13, 2013 7:34 pm

Had a guy contact me from all the way in Tennesee from this site about hunting some brant last winter, I offered to host him for a couple of days. Was happy to share my boat with an incredible guy and waterfowler who has hunted in every state, and was very happy to see him get his first NY brant. He had never hunted out of a grass boat before and really enjoyed a classic Long Island salt marsh hunt. He had a great time and we already talked today on the phone about his return trip next December. He was amazed how nice they pitched into the rig for a 10 yard shot, he killed a double and one had a very pale belly almost white.

Give me some notice on that guy next year Tim, maybe we can get out to the pit and do a layout shoot. Where did he stay while here?

He stayed at a hotel, he just wanted brant, he's been hunting for 30 years and was a guide for several years in LA. He really got a kick out of the grass boats and our style of gunning. He has killed brant everywhere brant can be killed on the east coast, but his hunt with me on LI was his favorite which I think is pretty cool. He thinks we drive too fast up here though. :hammer:
