Hi guys. A quick update of my hunt Saturday. I hunted a field owned by the DEC that had clearly been a chewed over cornfield. As you all know, the weather Saturday morning was blue skies, sunny with some billowing clouds. Nice to be out in the field but definitely not an "ideal" day.
Anyhow, saw a fair amount of geese flying in ALL directions. Had some duck hunters to the north and south of me and another goose hunter to the west of me. Heard lots of calling but not much shooting.
Saw a flock of 20 snow geese fly over early and also saw a flock of 12 snow's in a cornfield on private property on my way out. Only had two opportunities to shoot as the geese were flying high all day.(I posted my goof in the honey hole section) Came up empty.
As I am just starting to be self sufficient, I only had 12 Magnum shells in my spread. I think if I had more decoy's or could have called a little better I may of had another opportunity or two
Called it a day at 10:30AM and then did some additional scouting in the area.
