Season must have started

Postby sssurfertim » Thu Oct 10, 2013 11:26 am

No reports? Friends of mine are up in the North zone, doing great with woodies with a few mallards. They did an afternoon yesterday and got their first Ringnecks. I am headed up to hunt wood ducks in the Catskills for Saturdays opener.
No island leaft for Islanders like me.

Did a short hunt while I was up bowhunting this weekend. No birds around in an already duckless region made for a slow morning for me and Duckdoyle. Was very happy to work some mallards, and happy I brought some common merganser decoys along. Missed a doe Friday evening in a overgrown apple grove, thought she was 30yds was really 40yds and went right under her. Good hear wings above us again, and awesome scenery too. Red hot Trout River gunning! :lol3:

Love the multi hunts, most years the 3rd week of Oct. I head up to Lincoln ME hunt woodies and ringnecks in the morning on a small lake I rent a cabin on. Grouse and woodcock in the afternoon. good stuff.
