You could try Canadarago Lake in Richfield Springs.... decent size lake, with public launch, marshes at both ends of the lake

That is great to know, I just checked it out and it's quite legit.

Is there a lot of pressure there? Or does it fizzle out with deer season and cold weather??

I've only hunted it twice, its a long way from my regular hunting grounds. I suspect it does get some pressure, having the public launch, but as you say it might fizzle out late season. Being a bigger lake, it might hold more ducks than say, a smaller marsh/pond.

I suspect Otsego Lake might be good hunting too. Lots of private land, but there is a state park you could maybe launch at, have to see if they let you launch there with a gun?

I've heard guys talking about hunting Oneida lake, I don't know about Otsego though.

So I'm guessing that Cazenovia is unhuntable?

I'm not sure about Caz. Has anyone else hunted it?

Caz is kind of a special situation, not sure if you are familiar with that lake or not. The residents of Caz seem to have the attitude that its "their lake" and they often try to keep outsiders out, even for fishing and boating. There is a small DEC access along the north east shore, and as long as there is a safe shooting lane, I don't see why you couldn't hunt it? But I guess, based on the possessive nature of the residents, you should make sure you have all your "ducks in order" cuz some folks may try to give you trouble.

I'd like to hear if anyone else has hunted it, with no problems?
