Black Friday Special!

Postby BrowningBlaster » Fri Nov 29, 2013 10:19 am

Not many birds flying today, but was able to get one. My third (7 year old) of four sons was so excited to go and try his new duck call that he bought with his own hard earned money. Been really frigid here the past 2 days, and only able to keep the kids warm for about a 2 hour hunt. Just remember, you go deer hunting and shoot a deer, you have succeeded. You go duck hunting with kids, and get a duck, you have succeeded! Not to many bag limits are achieved, but lots of good times and memories that will last! Have fun, and be safe...

Very nice! :grooving:

It is great to get the kids out there! I was fortunate to get my two older boys up on Lake Ontario this afternoon.

Yup, pistol in hand and a common merg hen! Don't tell Gov. Cuomo that he had more than 7 BB's in the magazine! :fingerpt:

Funny story about the gun. Last season I took same son out, with BB gun, looking for targets to shoot along shore line I found empty beer cans. I threw them in the water for him to shoot at. He goes to school the next day and tells his teacher that he went with his dad and shot beer cans with his own gun! I can only imagine the look on the teachers face, and she probably thinks I was drinking beer with him and allowing him to use guns shooting recklessly!

Anyways, its a good way to kill time, and keep them interested, just no more beer can stories.

kid looks like James Bond with that pistol!! ha ha

great job....getting the kids baited a little at a time....

side story...I took my 7 year old out shooting back in the day...empty field where people had been partying , trash everywhere bottles everywhere....sort of an eyesore...but i figured good for shooting. set up some bottles and at 5 yards had my kid busting them with my .22 AMT semi auto.....after one of the shots, he grabs his face( he had glasses on and hearing protection) and i look over and pull his hand away and the slag of lead that splattered off the bottle was in his hand!!

we never shot bottles again.....not saying its bad, or good.....just saying.....and Not comparing it to your son and his bb gun and cans.......

good hunting

tool,

WOW I am glad your son was ok. It's weird how sometimes things like that can happen. We now setup the empty shell casings and shoot those in the blinds, at home we shoot paper targets.
