Fishing near and around Saranac Lake

Postby Bluebill Buster » Thu Jul 26, 2007 7:06 am

Hey guys, I travelling with my in-laws to Saranac Lake in a few days for a week of camping and hiking. I going to trailer my jon boat up there as well to do some fishing. This will be my first year there so I don't know what to expect of the fishing.

Having grown up in WNY, I have a good idea I will run into both largemouth and smallies, ring perch, walleyes and pike... but I don't know for sure.

If anyone can give me some info on what's biting or what to expect I would really appreciate it. I going to try and do some jigging for the the eyes and perch to treat everyone to a campfire fish fry... but I need the fish to cooperate for that.

Any info on bait or what lakes to hit would be a huge help!

Thanks ahead of time!
