Anyone heading to Cayuga for the opener?

I'll be in the cove at Union Springs 3:30 a.m. on the 23rd. If you see an old fat bald guy stumbling around DON"T SHOOT ME!

LOL

I won't be hunting Cayuga, we've got another spot picked out, I'm just trying to figure out if I want to use some of my vacation time for the western opener, or if I want to save it for later in the season. Next year I get two weeks of time, so it won't be as big a dilemma. I've actually only hunted cayuga once, although we used to troll it for trout all winter. That lake can get real nasty real quick. In a year or two when I can get a boat more suited for bigger water and divers I'm sure I'll make the trip more often.

We usually have pretty good luck in the coves at the North end, if you can find a semi sheltered spot the hunting can be pretty good. You don't want to be out in the open water in a small boat however. I almost scuttled my 14 footer four years ago in 2 foot swells off Goose Watch, never again go there with a small boat.
