I'm looking at the Anticipated Framework for the 2014-2015 waterfowl seasons and trying to take into account all of your concerns. I think I have most bases covered, but for those of you in the western zone for geese, I need some additional input. The framework says that you can have a season 107 days long between October 1 and March 10 (no September season in that zone) and that you can split the season into three segments. Taking into account all the input I've gotten so far, I'm considering a regular season (ducks) of Nov 22 - Nov 30 and Dec 6 - Jan 25. So, the question is, how would YOU like to see the Canada goose season in the western zone? Would you like more days early or late? I normally don't hunt that zone, but I've had some conversations with some who do. In the past, they have expressed concerns about having the season go so late as to disrupt the breeding pairs. What are your thoughts? Remember, this is YOUR season.
I feel slightly sorry for a man who has never patterned his gun, who has no idea how far his chosen load will retain killing penetration. But I'm extremely sorry for the ducks he shoots at beyond the killing range of his gun and load - Bob Brister
