Shouda Stayed At Home

Postby talkinquack » Sat Nov 12, 2005 10:05 am

Hunted Tucker Town this morning. Shot at a few birds but came home empty handed. My buddies hunted about 150 yards below me. They killed 2 gadwalls, 1 hen mallard, 1 merganser, and 3 canadians. It was real foggy this morning. Thanks goodness I had my GPS or I would have been in real trouble. I guess I should have just stayed at home. Hope everyone else had a good hunt.

Hunted Duck Pond/Impoundment right off the Rock today.
Saw maybe 75 to 100 Woodies, No mallards in this hole YET.

3 guns=6 Woodies in 5 Minutes
Just stayed around to watch the hole fill up with ducks.

Sat on my pier on the main channel of abotts creek and watched several large groups of mallards (unbelievable amount), flying very high , making there way towards the river. Looked like WILD ducks to me.

Good luck rest of the week boys, I'm back off to Raleigh.

We hunted a swamp off Falls Lake on Sat. We didn't even fire a shot. Saw maybe 25 ducks. None even close to being in shooting range. We did have a flock of 4 black ducks circle several times, but it was so sunny and clear at that point we just called it a day.

Hunted same spot again this morning. Had one merganser come in and decoy. Goes say he kinda got ground swatted. Saw a grand total of 9 ducks and about 60 geese. It was sunny and little to no wind. Hope it gets better.

Yeah, he's got a Ranger 519 Commanche. You know him? Lives on High Rock and fishes a lot of tournaments around the local lakes.
