So I can finally let the cat out ofthe bag. Scouted Flat River Tues and it was wrapped up in Ringnecks. I mean at least 500 in groups of 25-100 everywhere. Hunted it today on a draw and CRUSHED them. Best hunt I've had in 3 years. The first 20 minutes all it was all I could do to keep reloading. went threw 3/4 of a full shell belt in 45 minutes:wasn't shooting too good today but I figured out what I was doing and finished strong. It was nice to have everything line up. Cold weather broke the big groups up but it just had a little skim ice on it, Decent wind to keep dekes moving, and had them to myself and 1 other guy. Here's what I did:
25 shells(again struggled at first but finished strong)
5 ringnecks(all drakes)
2 woodies(all drakes)
Missed 4 red legs, but man it was fun. Perfect ending to pretty weak year overall.

Congrats. I know how you feel. Its amazing what you can accomplish with a little scouting and hard work...something some people will never know about. Good job!

Did better than we did on Dec 31 draw. I guess the ducks hadn't found the impoundment by that time.
