ANy Reports for the Coast

Postby medlin11 » Thu Sep 12, 2013 7:39 am

Anybody killed any teal at the coast the past couple days? Seen larger numbers?? Any on the lakes or impoundments?

I have not heard of much going on in the western Carteret/Onslow area. Most of the folks here are focusing on fishing.

Dove season seems to be on real hot, but I have been moving past the marshes on my way to the inlet since early teal opened and have not heard a gun shot or have seen a duck hunter.

With that said, quite frankly I do not know if I am even in a good teal area. Each year I say I am going to hunt early teal, and each year when the fishing gets hot I focus that way!

Good luck/be safe.

P.S.- I have caught every 11.5 inch Spanish Mackerel in the Atlantic Ocean in the past 3 weeks

I did not see any birds or hunters or hear any gunfire in my area the last two mornings while heading to the inlet at sunrise.

Good luck.

One of the other discussions on Pamlico Point seemed to indicate there were some teal and lots of hunters in Pamlico county. It is best to hunt from Pamlico Point all the way to Bogue Sound. No ducks in Hyde County.

I spent all of 20 minutes offshore this. 1-2 foots seas my a$%#. My 19 foot Mako is solid, but we were being tossed around like a cork.

The weekend before we killed Spanish with gold Clarkspoons. Sea was so smooth that you could spot bait bals easily with the birds working them.

problem was they were small......only kept 3 out for the 20-25 we caught.

I was set with a tip from old John Willard at Dudley's.......weather just did not want to play nice
