RECON OF WHITE OAK ROVER IMPOUNDMENT

Postby Paul26 » Tue Oct 01, 2013 8:16 am

Anyone: I am interested in doing a daylight recon of the White Oak Impoundment any Saturday or Sunday later this month.

I am very familiar with the waters just outside the impoundment, and have walked the dike several times. I am NOT familiar with the foot bridges, the width of the canal just inside the dike, any safety hazards, etc.,

This is for safety purposes. I know how to hunt and do not need to know where inside you have slayed them in the past.

I’ll meet you at the Stella ramp. I’ll have the boat, all you need is you and some waders.

Pls PM with responses. Lunch on me afterwards at Paps if you don’t drown me and we are not eaten by alligators.

Paul,
There are very deep holes at the end of both foot bridges. Also the bottom of the inpoundment is very muddy and full of holes. Take a wading stick and be carfull.

I have walked along the footbridges a few times, but have never stepped off on the interior side. Now that I hear this, I probably will do this recon sans waders.

The last time we hunted it we took a canoe and hunted out of it. If you can haul a one man boat or something in your "big" boat that is the way to go.
