Was in LA shooting a real mixed bag...everything from teal to shovelers. Had one guy with us who got real snotty when a shoveler was shot...said his club fined them $25 for each shoveler they shot, because they taste so foul. I fixed blackened duck that night, mixing everything we had in there, teal, mallards, gadwalls, pintails, shovelers, and speckle bellies. Didn't tell them the spoonies were in there. Got raves all round, then when I told them that half of what they had just eaten was spoonies, the guy said they were going to have to change the rules in their club.
