put oil on it and put in the freezer over night(just on the choke and just the barrel in the deep freezer) this worked for a friend but it cant hurt to try.
I just really had to bare down on one of mine, that cooling idea should work from what i've heard. Definatly purchase some choke tube grease/lube, it solved my problem I was having with chokes.
my 985 does the same thing I purchased a real tool and did the freezer trick, it worked I hunt a layout boat alot and my barrel gets alot of salt treatment white litham grease works well.
One thing to remember when hunting the salt H2O is run the shotgun under a hot shower as soon as possible after hunting. Wipe it down and apply oil. Not intended to insult intelligence but most people don't think of rinsing the salt off in a hot shower.
ALso, break it down as far as you are comfortable with prior to rinsing.
The hot water will evaporate faster than cold water. That is the only reason I use hot water, cold water may work if you get all the water out of the gun.
The big thing is to rinse the salt out and off of the gun to minimize corrosion. Then clean and oil it.
