Have a draw hunt on Saturday. Trying to figure out whether I should use a Mojo or not. It seemed to me that ducks wouldn't commit all the way when seeing the Mojo during this past teal and early seasons...Debating on just using a jerk rig with 5 or so decoys instead. Wind forecast is saying only 5-6mph where I'm hunting at 7AM so the rest of the decoys will most likely be still and lifeless unless I can get some ripples in the water. What say you all?
Take them with you and set them out if the birds fail to commit take them out. I've had day where they worked great and days where the birds failed to commit and the mojo was the first change I made.
I got a pulsator and it is great. I would bring mine and see what happens. I think being different makes all the difference. Jerk rigs are great. My forearms just aren't as strong as they use to be, all the jerking now makes me tired.
You might want to re-think your advise. While the intent is certainly understood, what you are doing could easily be construed by a warden as baiting- especially if the area you're hunting has no acorns. He's not going to be listening to excuses when he sees half the bucket full of acorns and the other half of floating throughout your spread. Could cause a lot of grief . . .
My advise would be to substitute small rocks/stones in lieu of the acorns. Better safe than sorry.

       wow bud, ya think? sometimes if i don't have acorns i just take a super soaker and fill it with corn syrup and throw corn cobs in the air and try to hit them with it. that makes a great ripple combo too.
come on guy, you didn't really think i grab a bucket of acorns and head to the swamp. :fingerhead: :clapping: congrats, your comment is now the theme of my computer background and will be the laughing matter of the duck blind throughout the rest of the week.
