guided hunt

Postby snc1100 » Tue Nov 19, 2013 9:29 pm

I was invited by my uncle to go on a guided hunt out of okracoke with him and a few of his friends in January. I've never been with this guide or on a guided hunt period for that matter. Just wanted to see if any of you guys had been with him and had any input. i believe his name is Ken Dempsey and like i said its out of okracoke. Were going the 2nd 3rd and 4th of January. if any one has any input it would be greatly appreciated. I've already paid the deposit so im going either way but id love to know what to expect. Thanks!

Ken is a great guy and you'll have a good time...known him and his family for years. Also a heck of a fisherman. I believe you'll leave out of Odens Dock, which is Hatteras Village.

Good operation. Good time of year for the red heads.

You'll be on them redheads buzzin through the timber. Benelli spitting, thumbin shells.

If the weather is right and things line up for you it should be a good hunt. You will prolly see redheads, pintails, and buffleheads mostly. There is a chance you could see some brant.

"Orakracokers" is a special kind of people and I am sure it took a while for Ken to get settled in the Outer Banks, you everyone who's met him, likes his personality and hard work.

Ken is a mighty fellow, but you need to contact him mighty early in the fall if you want to lock down a weekend hunt- or hunts that are scheduled around the holiday breaks.
Mr. Nash, he had me take out a Mr. Money from England, who was "De' Shooingest Gent'man" I'd ever did meet! ***Check out [Joe Guide YOU TUBE hunting Videos]***
