I joined in here a while back to read and learn, but just starting hunting this season. Went on an evening hunt, and I got this guy!

Nice.

Just be careful with those evening woodie hunts. Stuff can go wrong if you're not careful.

Again, congrats.

It gets dark quick! I was with a buddy, and could hear cars on the highway.

You cannot shoot past sunset. There is a lot light at that time. Wood ducks rarely fly until after sunset. A serious ticket could await you.

I love watching the evening flights. Those woodies seem to rocket in from nowhere. We had a place that they would come in by the thousands. We had some great afternoon shoots on nasty weather days. Most time we didn't fire a shot but would get a show you can't see anywhere else.

We had 6 minutes left of LST when we shot. Trust me, we were keeping a watch on it!

Congrats,, just trying to be helpful, I did not know the ropes as a young man and almost got in big trouble over shooting late.

You're good! I'd rather have someone out there willing to give info like that than set someone up. I am paranoid about shooting times since I had a relative get busted for shooting a deer too late.
